Chinglen N. asked a question to Joel C.
I am currently working in Life Insurance industry in India for 4 years. My role is in Sale Startegy and Support. I had earlier applied to few roles in Allianz and other global organizations but let alone selecting, landing for interview seems almost impossible. The growth and learning opportunity available is very limited with my current role and that's the reason why I wanted to join a global organization like Allianz as there will be much more opportunities. Also, I am willing to explore other roles which I think is essential if one has to learn about the global insurance industry. Other than work, I always wanted to join global organization where there is so much diversity, people from various nations as it teaches us about the world we live in and makes us more broad-minded.
Hi!
Thanks for reaching out. It is good that you are exploring opportunities to broaden your horizons.
My advice is to ensure that your resume is tailored for the opportunity. You can find advice on the Internet on writing a good resume. Personally, I would say focus on your achievements; your resume should not be a list of your roles and responsibilities (anyone can list that, but I would be interested to know what you achieved).
It could help to get in touch with people in the organization to learn about the culture/company and get your foot in the door.
Job seeking can be a long process. I would advise you explore learning opportunities to upgrade and make yourself more marketable.
All the best with your job search!
